About Carioto

Established in 1929 by Augustine Carioto, Carioto Produce has a storied history that spans nearly a century. The humble beginnings of the business saw Augustine sourcing fruits and vegetables from Menands Regional Markets and selling them to local mom & pop stores until his truck was empty each day.

In 1960, the second generation of the Carioto family, led by Frank Carioto, took the reins of the business. Frank expanded the company's customer base by supplying not only the small stores served so diligently by his father but also branching out to restaurants. His vision and drive led to the construction of a warehouse facility in Watervliet, New York, in 1969.

1971 marked another significant milestone for Carioto Produce, as Tony Carioto joined his brother Frank in the family business. The duo continued to grow the business, extending their services to large restaurants and food service companies.

The third generation of Cariotos, Anthony and Greg, took over in 1991. Staying true to their family tradition of serving small operators while also expanding their reach to national chains, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities, they further broadened the company's horizons. In 2007, they built a new 20,000-square-foot climate-controlled facility and added a full line of seafood to Carioto Produce's extensive offerings.

Today, Carioto Produce stands as a testament to the power of family, tradition, and an unwavering commitment to quality and service. From our roots as a small produce vendor to becoming a trusted supplier for businesses of all sizes, we continue to uphold our founding values while embracing growth and innovation.
